About

Toronto-based Drop Dead Poppies blends a psychedelic, improvisational spirit with southern rock flavour and 1970s influences. Formed in 2022, the quartet—led by vocalist-guitarist Poppy Miers—creates infectious energy through inspired jams and evocative lyrics. The lineup features David Sufrin (drums) and Mike Strizic (bass) along with guitarist Paul Phelan, whose slide and pedal steel complete a rich, genre-hopping sound.

DDP performs regularly across south Ontario, appearing in venues like the Horseshoe Tavern, Supermarket, the Dakota Tavern, the Monarch Tavern, and more. In 2025, the band took the stage at Riverfest in Elora and played in support of local charities (the Awesome Music Project) and community spaces (the Grateful Den). In 2026, DDP will perform at Come Together Festival in Durham, at Gussapalooza in Cookstown, and at NXNE in Toronto, among others.

Drop Dead Poppies is currently working on their first full-length album.
